Night Hawks

This is the very famous American painting called Night Hawks by the great artist Hopper.
In my History of Art class last semester for our final project we were to make a work of art in our medium of study (ie. Photography) that is inspired by/ a tribute to a famous work of Art. So I chose Night Hawks. I love this painting because it shows a very dark, lifeless city in the late hours of the night. And how it is a beacon of light to the wanderer of the night. It is like they all have a common bond of loneliness. And I really just love the whole concept of the beacon of light that people are drawn to. I don't know its something about it...

The only real light for miles....
